Build Your Big Life Coaching
From Feeling Ready to Clarity and Direction
Are you feeling restless these days?
Like there’s something bubbling deep inside you?
Maybe you’re not quite sure exactly what it is, or maybe you know in your heart, but…
Are you ready for something to change?
I get it.
Hi, I’m Kourtney, and I’m familiar with that feeling of being ready.
I’ve been there many times before. From the time I made the terrifying plunge into this career in fitness, to the time I gave up on chasing the “perfect” body, to the time I faced all my old stories and started writing new ones to live the life I truly wanted to live – countless times when I’ve felt something in my gut, something I knew I had to act on.
I’ve learned that it’s always worthwhile, life-changing even, to act on that feeling of being ready. To move forward, turning readiness into reality.
These experiences are exactly what led me to create Build Your Big Life Coaching.
Some of the craziest and most challenging experiences of my life have turned out to be the ones that have taught me the most. They’re the experiences that have allowed me to help others who are going through similar situations and struggles. And they’re the experiences that have shaped who I am and shown me what it’s like to truly discover what you stand for as a human being – and then to live it.
When I wasn’t sure I was ready to start my own business, I found the support and made the jump. It’s a hard road, but so worth it.
When I had to make difficult decisions about personal relationships, I sat with my feelings and determined, then enforced my boundaries. Those decisions have changed my life for the better.
When I started to make physical changes for myself, I examined all the conditioning that had been shaping my self-image for years. That awareness led to a whole new way of walking through the world.
When I was floundering and craved connection with like-minded women, I sought it out, as scared as I was to do it. And it rocked my world.
Big Arms, Big Life didn’t happen overnight. It took years of deeply emotional reflection. It took trial and error. Wading through uncomfortable feelings. Creating and enforcing boundaries for myself. But in the end, what it all boiled down to was choice.
I’m in control of my choices.
Choices for my body. For my business. For my relationships. For my life. And in taking charge of those choices, my life has grown bigger and fuller than I ever could have imagined.
Now, I want that for you.
Build Your Big Life Coaching is a 3-month intensive program for an intimate group (only 10 women) of career-minded women interested in personal and professional growth, development, and empowerment through a healthy lifestyle and supportive, but directed, coaching and community.
This is the place if you’re ready, you’ve been feeling right on the verge, of big steps toward your Big Life. This is the place.
Who is Build Your Big Life for?
This is for women who are ready. If you’ve been feeling stuck, if you’ve been lacking clarity and direction, if you have been feeling ready to make moves, this is for you.
This is for women who are interested in defining and achieving success on their own terms. I’m not interested in telling you exactly what to do with your career, relationships, or life. This isn’t about a system. If you’re ready to explore what’s uniquely right for you and the path to get there, this is for you.
This is for women who are ready to make the changes required to live a bigger, fuller life. Change can be scary. But taking responsibility for your actions – and inactions, and taking control of your choices will open up doors you may never have even seen as available. If you’re ready to open up to possibilities, this is for you.
This is for women who are looking for direction and clarity in their next steps toward the Big Life. It might all feel a little bit like mumbo jumbo right now. Like you’re being torn in a thousand different directions. If you’re ready to distill it down to action steps, this is for you.
Who is Build Your Big Life not for?
This is not for women who are looking for a new fitness program. This is not the place for major physical transformations. Yes, there is a fitness component, but it’s not the focus. This program is bigger than that.
This is not for women who already have it all figured out. This group is a place of exploration, of openness. We share experiences and knowledge, and there is coaching, but there is no room for my-way-or-the-highway here.
This is not for women who are not willing to engage and participate in a group environment and collaborative setting. Sure, you can gain a little bit by lurking. But you will not learn and grow to your potential if you are not ready to engage with the process, and all the participants in the group.
This is not for women who are not willing to put in the time and effort required to bring about lasting change and a fuller life. Moving from being unsure about everything to feeling grounded and ready for action does not happen without work. We will do intensive and deep questioning work that requires time, energy, and focus. If you are not ready to commit to that work, this is not the place.
I got what I was looking for, and so much more! We dove into topics that I didn’t feel I needed guidance on, but found myself growing and learning and uncovering old stories that have been unconsciously affecting my life.
– Lacey

It is expected that you complete the required reading each week, along with the Book Reflections. It is expected that you will engage in group discussions around the Weekly Reflections, daily topic prompts, and required reading. It is expected that you dedicate the appropriate amount of time it takes you to give attention to the above throughout the length of our time together. It is expected that you keep an open mind and heart, and engage honestly and authentically with the process for the entire three months.
And at the end of this three months?
You can expect to learn a lot about yourself over the course. You can expect to spend plenty of time in thoughtful reflection, digging deep into each topic, from health to relationships to career and empowerment. You can expect plenty of support from me as your coach, as well as your fellow participants throughout our three months together. From that, you can expect to gain feedback toward direction and clarity going forward. And you can definitely expect to make personal connections with other women in the group that you’ll take with you for a lifetime.
You can expect to see changes in yourself and progress toward your version of Big Arms, Big Life.
I’ve spent the last three years neck-deep in personal and professional change. I left my full-time job, moved to a new city, started a business, started another business, tried to meet people and make friends, and faced a discouraging number of real estate-related setbacks. There was lots of change…but not much progress. When I read about Build Your Big Life, I saw it as a chance to get unstuck, to add needed structure to a self-discovery process, to make connections and to get feedback on my plans for the future. And I trusted Kourtney to put together a program that was challenging, thoughtful and productive.
What I got was exactly that, and more. With reflections, readings and an online community, Kourtney walked me through key questions about identity, values, goals, and limitations. I had to look hard at the assumptions I was making about myself, my abilities and my purpose in the world. I had to stop believing other people’s and society’s unhelpful and untrue messages about me, and start owning and living up to my truth, my vision and my choices.
Although Kourtney is the “leader” of the group, she’s much more than that. She’s a coach, facilitator, cheerleader and fellow journeyer. She asks questions, challenges misperceptions, identifies insights and builds on solutions. This work isn’t easy — I had to look deep inside, and sometimes I didn’t like what I saw — but it was easier with Kourtney as my guide.
The best part is, the learning and the relationships I gained by participating will continue long after the official program is done. Now when I am faced with a career-related decision, I can hold it up to the values I identified as most important to me. If it’s not a fit, I won’t do it. If I start to get off-track, I can refer back to the commitments I made to myself, and re-focus. If I need feedback, I can turn to my fellow BYBLers for advice.

I had no sense of direction or clarity when I started the Build Your Big Life coaching program. I wanted more – and expected more – from myself in most areas of life, but felt totally overwhelmed by where to begin. Don’t get me wrong, I had goals and dreams; but the excitement of achieving those goals and living those dreams had become overshadowed by the misery I was experiencing each day as I tried to gather even some hint of what I could do to start moving towards them.
The BYBL coaching program was a challenge, in all of the right kinds of ways. I was challenged to change my way of thinking. I was challenged to rewrite the stories that had shaped my life in all areas and aspects. I was forced to get very clear on who I am and what I find most important in life, on what I want from my career and relationships, and everything in between. I was challenged to get down to the nitty gritty, time and time again – and it was so worth it.
The 3 months I spent being coached, encouraged, and guided by Kourtney in the BYBL coaching program have shaped the start of a new, exciting journey that I call my Big Life. It’s about showing up in the world and occupying space, taking control of my choices, and doing everything I do for reasons that serve and empower me. The BYBL coaching program was an awesome investment in myself and my future, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to be coached by such an amazing woman.

This program came along at the perfect time for me. I was looking to embrace my life….all of it…and stop hiding. I have learned a lot about myself the last few months, and how I want my Big Life to look. One of the big takeaways was knowing that I am not alone. By creating this opportunity for like-minded women to connect, you brought together women from diverse backgrounds with different perspectives and experiences all looking to support one another. It was an amazing experience. We became a community. 🙂
I love your dedication to responding to all our posts. I always felt like you were truly listening and always responded in a thought-provoking way. Always trying to get more out of us, which is what I needed. Helping us to dig deeper. Your love for what you do is evident in everything you put out there, and I am truly grateful for everything.

When I joined the group, I was hoping to meet some other cool women, which I did. I was also hoping to figure some shit out with myself. I needed to figure out who I am today because it is very different from the person I was even 2 years ago, but I guess I was still trying to be that person. I felt a tension within myself, and I wasn’t sure what was causing it, or what I needed to do. All the reflections, discussions, readings, and hearing from other women (a lot of whom were dealing with the same kind of feelings I was, and that in itself was helpful and a relief) helped me discover who I am right now and what is most important to me.
I feel like myself again. My energy is up because I have perspective again. I feel grounded in myself and my values again. All of that helps me have direction. This process really helped me be at peace with myself too. One, I am not crazy and not the only one who struggles with these things. Two, really knowing what you value makes it so easy to kind of just say fuck it to all the other stuff that isn’t in those values. Going through those values and redefining my identity for who I am today was a big deal for me, and reignited some confidence I had lost for a while.
– Beth

Common Questions about Build Your Big Life Coaching
How much time do I need to dedicate to the program each day, and each week?
This will vary from person to person, of course, based on how deeply you cover each Reflection topic, how much you interact with the group, and how long it takes you to read the required books. 10-12 hours per week is a good ballpark for thorough reflection and engagement, but an hour a day is non-negotiable.
I will be traveling at some point during the three months. Is that OK? Can I still participate?
You can absolutely still participate in the group, even if you will be traveling or absent for a period of time during the three months. You just need to be aware that you will need to set aside time to complete your Reflections and other materials at your own pace as necessary to be able to stay engaged with the group and the schedule. The content builds from week to week, and it will be expected that you are able to engage around your travel.
How is the program delivered?
It’s all online! Weekly Reflections and Book Reflections will be delivered via email, in both PDF and Microsoft Word format for your convenience. Daily prompts and group interaction will happen in a private Facebook group. Video interaction will happen via Facebook Live and Zoom Meetings.
What is the format?
The format looks a little like this:
- Emails are delivered Mondays with Weekly Reflections and Book Reflections (in PDF and Microsoft Word format), as well as a personal update.
- Facebook prompts to dig into the Week’s material are posted daily, Monday through Friday.
- Live coaching (either Facebook Live or Zoom Meeting) happens once per week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
- Fitness program is delivered (in PDF format with links to demo videos) via email on Monday of Weeks 1 and 7.
What do I need to be able to participate?
All you need is an open mind, an email address, and a Facebook account. Of course, you’ll need a commitment to self-care and some dedicated time to reflect and participate in the group too.
Do I have to buy the books required for the group?
Nope! The three required books for the curriculum are included with the cost of the program.
Do I have to read the books?
Yes, you do. The material covered in the books is essential to the work that we do throughout the course.
Do I have to read the “recommended” books?
No, you don’t. There are two books that are recommended, but not required. They can help enhance your understanding of some of the concepts we work through, but are not mandatory to get the full benefit of the materials.
Do I have to be on Facebook?
You do have to have a Facebook account in order to participate in this Coaching group. Many of the materials are delivered via email, but it is expected that you engage in group discussions, and we do that on Facebook. Even if you are not currently active on Facebook, you would need to create an account to use for this program.
Is there a fitness program or coaching?
There is an available fitness program that runs for the length of the 12-weeks. It’s broken down into two 6-week phases, and is highly customizable for various fitness levels and equipment availability. I am certainly available to answer questions, review form videos, and give feedback, but the fitness program is not the main focus of this coaching group, and it is not individualized programming or coaching.
Is there a nutrition program or coaching?
There is a broad-strokes approach to nutrition in this program, but specific coaching or nutrition plans are not provided. As with fitness, I am available for general questions about food and nutrition.
Will I need access to a gym?
Nope! The fitness plan can be completed at a gym, or at home.
Is the fitness program mandatory?
No way. While movement is certainly suggested for the duration of the program, what that looks like is all up to you. The fitness program provided in the group is simply an available option.
What is not included in the cost of the program?
The only thing not included is the end-of-program Retreat. That is an optional activity, and an additional fee should you choose to attend.
I’m on the fence about spending this kind of money. How do I know it will be right for me?
Unfortunately, I cannot answer that question in an FAQ section, because it’s completely individual. There is no way to determine the unique value that you will get out of this program, but I can tell you that every participant so far has found it well worth their investment. In the end, it is an investment in self-care, an investment in yourself, and absolutely an investment in your future. You have to decide for yourself if that’s worthwhile.
What if I don’t have PayPal?
Unfortunately, PayPal is the only payment accepted for this program. But you can feel comfortable using the service, even without creating an account – it’s fast, easy, secure, and you can use all major credit cards.
Is there a payment plan?
Yep! You can choose to pay in 3 monthly installments, which will be auto-debited each month via PayPal subscription.
What if I have other questions?
No problem, I’m happy to answer any of them! You can email me directly at kourtney@kourtneythomas.com.
